On the Mend

Hi.  Sorry for my abrupt vanishing.

Eary January 2021, I was having a bad day – pain, pressure,  lightheadedness.

Off to the emergency room!

Sometime in the next couple days I sent a single word message to some friends, still expecting this to be fast: pancreatitis.

About then, said disease, the painkillers, and various complications took over.

I have no clear memory of the last 3 months, so please keep that in mind.

But that is where I have been.

And now I am in rehab.

My apologies for previous lack of update.

  1. Glad you’re back and on the mend!

Not having strong memories of an extended hospital stay may be nicer than having them. Not good, but possibly the lesser of two evils.

    Fusses & warm fuzzies.

  2. Thank you for letting us know! I emerged from my own medical fuzziness a little while ago then started thinking, “Hang on, where’s Lynn?”

I’m glad that they figured out what it was and that you got treatment. I hope none of it was too horrible. I also hope that rehab goes well.

  3. It is a relief to hear from you; thank you for letting us know.
Sending well wishes, that rehab proceeds at a noticeable pace, and ever towards better health. ^_^

Yesterday, I learned that there are seals that inflate their noses to court potential mates.
Known as the “hooded seal”, “bladder-nosed seal”, or “cystophora cristata”, they look like most other seals – until the male does the inflation(s), and then he looks absurdly like he’s wearing a poofy wig while chewing gum.

Hopefully that weirdness helps take your mind off any more tiring things that might be happening?

  4. O_o Glad to hear you’re on the mend! Pancreatitis is, from all I’ve heard, a right old PITA, so as disturbing as not having clear memories of the last three months may be, I think I tentatively agree with kelkyag that this may just be the lesser of two evils.

    Get well soon!

  5. Ooigh, that’s awful. I just lost about two weeks of memories and life to a pneumonia/brain cancer double feature, and that relatively short time has me struggling and boggling — and trying to keep up with PT and all. You have my sympathy and blessings. And i
‘d be glad to chat about it, if you want to talk through that particular course of awfulness.
