From stryck comes this great April First idea, so please respond in haiku
Snow has melted, gone. Chickadee in the window, Holds sill upside down.
We stand in the rain Watching the snow melt away Waiting for the sun
Thick white flakes drift down Heavy wet snow slicks the roads What happened to Spring?
Spring might be hiding For here spring lurks, slow sprouting, Beneath apple trees.
Spring sneeeeeeaks in slowly Creeping up from the South; it Pops up suddenly
Spring took a wrong turn In Albuquerque. Still waiting with hope.
Ah, Spring’s a Bunny! That explains so much; we’ll chase the prey-beassssst down now!
Slim swift deer leaps away Peers at you from leafy cover As fierce chase occurs.
Around here, the deer Eat, glare at interlopers humans: Intruders
*grins* So true. Some deer are still a bit wild… but most are used to humans.
Or, if I am feeling angry at the snow (I did try to walk in it and it failed badly): Swift paws run, driving prey towards sharp claws and death. Bask in warm Spring sun.
Argh! That is 5-5-5! Bad poet! I think I was so excited by fitting in Albuquerque that I miscounted.
It’s okay, 4/1 is over? 😀
But I was having fun counting syllables! *grins*
Hamster! (me too)
