Countdown to Addergoole: Ciara and Amadeus

52 23 Days To 52 Weeks

For the 52 days leading up to the 52 weeks of Addergoole: Year 9, I will be posting something Addergoole-related (almost) every day.

Today I bring you Ciara and Amadeus

Ciara is a clever and tough young lady, a tiny go-getter whose Change leaves her marbled and elven; Amadeus is a large wolfish guy twice her size, a predator by nature and inclination.

Ciara came to Addergoole thinking that is was a finishing school; Amadeus, in his fourth year of the school, knows exactly what it is. They’re both in over their heads, because neither saw the other one coming.

They have appeared in :
Wolf at the Door (LJ)
Wolf in the Circle (LJ)
Ciara: Wolf in the Hand
Pet Wolf (LJ) (Ciara)

And today, you can ask them anything.

    • /He looks uncomfortable for a moment, until Ciara steps out of the room. Then he just looks differently uncomfortable/ Jaelie was easy to pick up, you know? She kind of wanted to be caught, I think. And I caught ‘Gita the old fashioned way, by being the biggest badass around on Hell Night. But nothing worked with Ciara. She wasn’t scared of me, just didn’t want anything to do with me. And she was so polite about it. I wanted to find out what she was like when she stopped being polite.

      • I think you found that out. You never considered actual dating? Asking her if she’d come to the dance with you & promising you’d get her home in one piece, that sort of thing?

        • /Amadeus regards you as if you’ve grown a second head/ This is Addergoole. Besides, doesn’t dating involve a lot of buying flowers and apologizing for stuff you didn’t do wrong?

          • And this being Addergoole means you have to behave like everyone else here? If you wind up apologizing for stuff you didn’t do wrong then you’re dating the wrong person. I can see how that idea might put you off the concept.

            • Being in Addergoole means if you’re not strong, someone else will take advantage of you. Back home, my dad’s girlfriends, all his friends’ girlfriends, all my buddies’ girlfriends… you think they were all dating the wrong person?

                  • Making people apologise for things they didn’t do seems wrong to me. Pointing out to someone that they’ve done something is one thing, but…

                    • Well, you know. “Where do you want to go for dinner?” “Oh, I don’t care.” Twenty minutes later you’re at McDonald’s and she’s crying.

                    • It might be a cultural and age thing but sounds to me like some people need to be clearer about what they mean and not expect other people to know what they’re not saying. For instance: “Oh, I don’t care as long as it’s not fast food.” “Oh, I don’t care as long as it’s not hamburger.” “Oh, I don’t care as long as it’s not McDonald’s again.” “Oh, I don’t care as long as they have table cloths.” “I was really hoping we could go to [insert name here].”

                    • /He barks a short laugh/ Yeah, if there’s one thing Ciara’s really good at, it’s being clear. /he looks a bit guilty, and then a bit gurmpy about being guilty./

                    • /He smirks a bit, clearly thinking about Owning her/ Harder? No. More thorough… yeah. That girl thinks of everything. /there’s a bit of pleased awe in his voice/
