So, ah… Journal Accountability? (A weight-not-loss blog post)

So *cough*

Looking at the scale (177.4), clearly I need to try something different.

Would you guys be willing to be my accountability for a couple weeks? I figure if I have to make a daily blog post with food & exercise, I’m a lot more likely to actually track it.

Lyn

[disclaimer: I was sick last week, didn’t track well mostly because of that, and I know I’m bloated, which usually adds a pound to two pounds. But I’m still not losing weight.]

Proper Direction Again (A Weight Loss Blog)

174.2 That’s more like it.

And last week, while better than the week before it, wasn’t stellar. Less tracking. So, It’s Monday. Gym tonight, and back on track with tracking.

I can do this.

(I feel less heavy, which is sort of weird.)

Well, that wasn’t too bad: Weight Loss Week Two

It wasn’t a good week, not really. I spent the whole week angry at myself for having gotten back up to this weight, wearing elastic-waist things that actually /fit/ and feeling silly and crappy about the whole thing.

I also spent it, however:
* tracking my food more carefully (Not on the days off, still working on that)
* going to the gym three times (M, W, F)
* trying to generally be more active.
* Trying to think positively about weight loss.

Today’s weigh-in: 174.8 lbs. Down 1.8 lbs, which is better than feared.

(hormones: I’m either still bloated, more bloated, or bloated again: my boobs hurt like hell and my period is due in ~2-3 days)

I tried three tracking methods this week:
http://www.loseit.com/
http://www.myfitnesspal.com/
Weight watchers, via excel formula ++ asking Rion for points on dinners.

Obviously, three tracking methods is not sustainable, but I’m still torn between Lose It! And Myfitnesspal. I might try a third method (people have suggested a few)in lieu of one for a week or two.

24.8 lbs to go, 25 weeks to go. Yay!

Perpetual Note: Please do not suggest or tell me 1) I don’t want to get down to xx weight, 2) xx is not a healthy weight, 3) anything else suggesting I don’t know what weight I might want to get to/look good having reached.

Well, no Wonder My Jeans Don’t Fit Right: the beginning of a weight-loss blog

Okay, so, my original goal (when I thought the scale was going to say 166 or so when I stepped on it) was to get to 140 by my father’s birthday, July 15.

My current goal is to get to 150 by July 15 and to 140 by October 1st. (Data point: I’m a broad-shouldered five foot eight woman.)

So, I’d been noticing for the last week that my jeans were uncomfortably tight, and finally stepped on the scale – 176.6 lbs. Um. That’s a bit higher than I’d been expecting. That’s a bit higher than it was last year at this time. 🙁

I’m not going to panic, however. I am NOT going to panic.

What I am going to do is try to go at this like I did when I had over 50 lbs to lose.

I’m going to track everything. Everything. I know I’ve been mindlessly snacking on pretzels at work, and I’m going to count them now.

Exercise: I joined the gym again last week. 2x a week in the gym, 3x if I can wrangle the time, and something physical at total of at least 6x a week.

I am not going to panic.

I’m still pondering /what/ weight-loss/food tracking system to use. Using Weight Watchers worked for me; using Weight Watchers new-system with someone else figuring the points didn’t work nearly as well. So do I go back to old system? Do I buy a membership? Do I try something free?

Food tracking is only half of it; I’ve discovered that I need concrete numbers and limits. And, of course, I need to remember to stay active.

Here we go. 26(ish) weeks, 26(.6) lbs. Let’s go.

Note: Please do not suggest or tell me 1) I don’t want to get down to xx weight, 2) xx is not a healthy weight, 3) anything else suggesting I don’t know what weight I might want to get to/look good having reached.

[Weightloss] Let’s call it a Mesa, I like that better than Plateau

So, as some of you may recall, one of my goals for the year is to lose 33 lbs over the year.

I was doing pretty okay for January and the first half of February – except that, rather than plateauing the week of my period and then dropping 2 weeks’ worth afterwards, as I did the first time I did this, I just plateaued and then returned to normal (slightly under 1 lb/week) loss afterwards. Rather frustrating, but survivable.

Then Late February into Mid-April happened. Sick, moody, sick, moody, different sort of sick…

…and then I didn’t step on the scale for two or three weeks, during which there were three birthday celebrations and a LARP with Domino’s Pizza.

I am exactly where I was when I last weighed myself (or at least wrote it down) at the end of February.

Okay! So that’s the new starting point. 166.6 (With Oli: 179.2). It’s Thursday, I’ll average every Wednesday.

Go!
