Home Crafting Project: The Door Curtain (#1)

Our front door is a bit drafty.

More than a bit, really: during the recent windstorm, water was blowing in under the bottom seam.

And that’s after we (T) have fixed the threshold.

In the long run, the whole door needs replacing, as well as the frame. And we need a storm door. But in the short run, I hung a curtain.

Not just any curtain!

I bought two lengths of heavy upholstery fabric on clearance at JoAnn’s, and then a layer of batting (the stuff that goes in the middle of quilts). I sewed a giant tube, inserted the batting, and then sewed a border to hold the batting down.

Then I sewed up the top so that I could slide a curtain rod through it, and hung a swing-arm curtain rod (this) above the door, so we can swing the curtain away to get out the door.

The difference was immediately noticeable.

Next up: the back door!

Is your house drafty? Too warm in summer? Too cold in winter? How do you deal with it?

The ClockWork Collar, or The Princess of Al-ben, a kink-bingo mini-story in 25 parts. Part 16 and 17

Well, I didn’t make it to 25 by the end of the month.

Is there interest in me finishing the journey, or should I go back and edit/flesh out?

She stroked him slowly for a moment, enjoying he way he shivered.

“I belong to you.” She smacked his thigh with the back of her hand. “You bought me. She pinched the soft meat on the inside of his leg. “And that was what was supposed to happen.” She slapped his ass, hard. He groaned, little grunting noises, around the toy in his mouth.

She punched him in the kidneys. “I am yours.” She grabbed his hair and yanked his head back. “I belong to you. You’ve claimed me.” She ran her nails down his back. “Entirely. Forever. Damn you.”

He’d stopped making sounds. She peeled his eyelid back to be sure he was still conscious; he blinked back at her.

“Yours,” she repeated. “And you are never going to forget it again.”

“Mm-mmrg?” He sounded groggy.

“Again. Now. Hold still.”

He tugged on the ropes. She ignored his wordless commentary and dug in his bags again. “Somewhere… here.” It was a good thing she had him tied up. “This is going to hurt.”

She had a design in mind, and a location. The needle and ink weren’t designed for this, but they worked. “The princess of Al-ben, indeed.”

CFC Recent Projects of Interest?

[personal profile] ysabetwordsmith has posted in [community profile] crowdfunding here asking:

What cyberfunded creativity projects have you recently donated to or participated in as a fan? What have you viewed? What prompt calls have you sent inspiration? What made them special enough to attract your support?

What do you want that you haven’t been seeing, or would like to see more of? Do you have ideas that you want to prompt, but aren’t sure what creator would be a good match for them?

The ClockWork Collar, or The Princess of Al-ben, a kink-bingo mini-story in 25 parts. Poll 11

“So,” she purred. “is that what I should do? What should I do?”

(Author’s note. Okay, I’m tired, and these two choices are very similar. So: we can go on to painplay, and after that to either enemas or mechanical/technological, or rough body play and then either enemas or tattoos. And I’m not sure what the different is between pain play and rough body play in this situation.)

Soooo…

He, of course, couldn’t answer. She found that appropriate.

“Well, then. Let’s see what I can do, before we sit down to breakfast.”

“Mm-mmmfst?!”

“Breakfast.”

She started with his toes.

She caressed his feet. “I should have bathed you first.”

“Mmmmm.”

“Ticklish, are you?” He squirmed violently against the ropes. “yes, you are. Lovely.” She rubbed up to his ankles. “Old scars, too. You’ve had a fun life, haven’t you, Master?”

“Mmmm.”

“You can tell a lot about a man from his feet. From his ankles.” She pushed the rope aside to study the scars.

“Mmmm!”

“They’re lovely ankles.” She caressed his calves. “Lovely feet. If you were mine, I might cane them.” She pinched his ankle gently. “What would you think of that?”

“Mmmm!”

Meme Time: Questions

Questions from [personal profile] moonwolf

1. Why did you start writing Addergoole?
Hrrm. That’s convoluted.

Steps: A friend introduced me to Tales of Mu.
I had been writing for a while by then.
And I wanted to share my writing with other people.
Web-fiction seemed like a brilliant idea.

Then it was a matter of – well, then, what should I write?
I had the Tír na Cali setting. I wanted something sexy, because Mu was so sexy. But Tír na Cali suffers from some really horribly shallow worldbuilding. So that wouldn’t work.

So… what if I just changed a few details?

And then Addergoole was born.

2. What’s your favourite thing about crowdfunding?
Immediate feedback! I can tell what works, and what doesn’t work!

3. If you could pick any of your verses to live in, which would it be and why?
Ack! I like writing dystopias… not so much living in them!
I think Facets, if I could be on the team. Or another team, but I really like Cole.
Or Stranded. Stranded would be nice.

4. What magical power would you love to have?
Teleportation teleportation teleportation

5. If you suddenly got sucked into an RPG which one would it be and what sort of character would you be?
Addergoole RPG?
Urrrrrrm
I really don’t know that one.
gut says Werewolf: the apocalypse. Child of Gaia Theurge.

Weight Loss – back where I started

Back in August I was posting my weight.

Back then I weighed about 167 lbs and the kittens weighed about 6 lbs.

Then a vacation and Christmas and stress happened.

When I weighed myself on 12/27 I was up to 172-173 lbs.

Today, after 4-1/2 weeks of weightwatchers, I’m back to 167.8 lbs.

And the kittens weigh 10 and 11 lbs. 🙂

Yesterday I:
* wrote down all points
* Wii’d for 11 minutes

Today I will:
* Gym for at least 1/2 an hour
