What do you want to know about my settings? [DragonsNextDoor, Stranded, Reiassan]

Okay! So the next thing on my list of things to write this weekend is a setting piece.

Dragons next Door won the setting-piece poll (Dreamwidth) by a landslide, 7 to 4 vote each for the 2 runners-up.

So I’ll be writting a page of Encyclopedia Draconica this evening.

And then a piece of Encyclopedia Stranded Or Reiassan.

What would you like to know about these settings?

Giraffe Call:pondering incentives

With a Giraffe Call coming tomorrow and a more-urgent-than-usual need for the income, I’ve been pondering the incentive levels.

The current donation incentives are:
Everyone who donates gets 100 words per dollar on their giraffe call of choice.

In addition, there are group-levels based on total donation level:

$35- 1000-2000-word fic on the subject of the audience’s choice. (I always reach this level)

$65- 2 microfics for every prompter (I get here about half the time)

$95- write EVERY prompt (I’ve gotten here once)

$120 – podcast of a story and double wordcount for donors (I never reach this level)

$150 – ebook of fiction for this call & last one (I never reach this level)

There is a linkback-incentive story as well, updated 50-words per linkback, and a new-commentor/donor incentive piece written about the setting.

There’s a poll up from the last giraffe call here and here)

My questions:
Do the current incentives serve to incentivize people?

What might better encourage donation/participation, if anything?

Thanks!

Like what you wanted was to pick more of my writing… well, maybe you did

If I do this meme – http://oslusiadas.tumblr.com/post/12753421291/30-days-of-character-development – which I’m thinking of doing (it’s short) – which character would you like to see me do it for?

Any setting, any character.

State of the Grove – excited and exhausted

Guys! I totally saw a fox this morning! On my way to work, there was a fox (a little red one) trotting across a neighbor’s yard!!!!

Hee!

Aside from that, I have
3 bug bites
2 tomatoes
and
1 happy/tired from my parents’ visit yesterday & tuesday.

I have no closing date for the house yet (boo hiss)

and a living room full of boxes (Yay T.)

Pondering another prompt day (Since I came up with a prompt). When is best for you: weekend/weekday, soon/later, morning/evening (EST)?

Tell me a story…

When I was a kid, my parents and I used to play the “what do you think their story is?” game, making up stories about everyday situations. People don’t seem to like to play this anymore, but I could use it today.

(fear of conflict means, it seems, other people’s conflict stresses me out.)

Overheard, in the Greyhound (bus station) parking lot, a couple with luggage in and around a car:

Person One: (Inarticulate screaming)
Person Two: “I made you my fucking wife and you piss[ed] all over [pronoun uncertain? me, it?]”
Person One: (more screaming)
(note: they are still moving around the car, moving luggage)
Person Two: “You fucking disgust me!”

Traffic light changes, and I drive away.

So… what do you think their story is? Feel free to be as ridiculous, fantastical, strange, out there, weird, as you like

Reader Input: Kink Bingo

I finished a line of Kink Bingo!

Which line of my card should I do next? Either a horizontal line or, since I have ideas for another story for Sense Dep. and Marking, one of the vertical lines headed by those topics.

Images for series of short stories

So!

I’m working on putting together something like Ysabetwordsmith‘s http://penultimateproductions.weebly.com/serial-poetry.html list of her serial poetry, and I’m trying to come up with images for each series.

I have pictures for a couple: http://pics.livejournal.com/aldersprig/gallery/0000wx38

After eseme‘s suggestion, TirNaCali is a map, showing the split (yes, I’m missing Baja. Sigh. I’ll need to add it)

The path is for Rin & Girey/Reiassan

Probably something like this – http://www.flickr.com/photos/matthewvenn/3026210580/in/photostream/ – for the Vas series.

That leaves: fae apoc and its subseries. I have some art for Addergoole, but nothing for faeapoc as a whole.

And Stranded.

Ideas?

What makes you awesome?

Heard this on the radio and it was too cool not to share:

Tell me, what makes you awesome? What about you makes you a cool human being?

Cool: a Sunday meme

Stolen from [personal profile] recessional

Name a character I’ve written about, and I will tell you three things that I think are essential to keep in mind when writing that character.
